Babbi Café

In the heart of Cesena, where the Babbi story began, Babbi Café renews its spaces with a contemporary furnishing project that enhances the gelato and café experience, celebrating the brand’s connection with the local area and its tradition.

Concept

The restyling, developed in close collaboration with BELLIARCH Studio in Cesena, redefines the hierarchy of the spaces, bringing the gelato area to centre stage.

A large peninsula in white solid surface becomes the project’s distinctive feature: a continuous, monolithic volume integrating display, service and café functions.The previous back counter makes way for a custom-designed central island, operational on all four sides. Washing, cocktail station and tray preparation are brought together in a single hub, optimising workflows and creating a more open perception of the space.

The Milia display cases for Gelato and Sam80 Air for Pastry are seamlessly integrated into the furnishings, maintaining the continuity of the volume through to the café area.

The central cash desk organises workflows, while concealed technical solutions and minimal use of steel keep the overall design clean and uniform.

The custom-designed back wall, featuring flush doors, becomes a narrative surface dedicated to the history of the Babbi family, the local area and product quality, combining graphics and furnishings in a single, distinctive brand element.

The project also makes use of vertical space: suspended structures accommodate bottles and glasses, while two refrigerated Pivot display cases showcase cakes, semifreddo desserts and individual portions. Integrated into the graphic wall cladding, they accompany the staircase to the mezzanine, becoming its balustrade.
