BAR SHARING

Design Giorgio Di Tullio + IFI R&D Dept.

Bar Sharing involves designing new generations of bars based on the possibility of transforming the venue on any day and at any time: breakfast, aperitif, lunch, happy hour or after dinner.

Bar Sharing eliminates the traditional difference between front and rear. The 1/2/3/4 metre modules, featuring identical depths and heights, remove this constraint allowing greater design and functional freedom: from linear solutions to the islands of destructured surroundings, there is no limit to the design of configurations and functions.

Over 70 modules, self-supporting and self-sufficient as they are finished on all sides, solve critical issues due to the presence of pillars or other local architectural constraints, giving the venue a consistent image.

The mobile LINK element is the cornerstone of the design: a high, resistant and thin table (only 10 mm thick and up to 4 metres long), which can be used as a counter top or, when moved into the bar, as a divider, fitted with bag hooks and electric sockets for computers, smartphone and tablets. The materials, including glass and Kraft paper layered cellulose fibres, which look and feel like wood, define the balance between strength and lightness.

The materials, including glass and Kraft paper layered cellulose fibres, which look and feel like wood, define the balance between strength and lightness. Unimaginable strength, slender lines, cleanliness, formaldehyde emissions significantly lower than permitted limits, and high recyclability are the characteristics of woodpaper, a food-safe material that can withstand fire, chemicals and organic solvents.
